18 Journals to Improve Stress & Productivity

PT school, like any other graduate program, can be incredibly stressful at times. I still struggle with managing my stress and anxiety, even after 1.5 years of classes.

We all know that exercise, a healthy diet, hobbies, and spending time with family and friends are some of the essential parts of happiness and stress relief, but it can be difficult to manage when taking full-time classes and working part-time. Sometimes I’m good about exercising every day and making plenty of time for myself, but recently it’s been difficult to get back into that habit.

If you aren’t sure if you will use a planner often, I would recommend an undated planner or a cheaper planner to try out. I didn’t use a planner until my 2nd year of PT school, so please don’t feel like you need one to be successful. I use my planner partially for school, but also for reflecting on all the positive things about my life.

1. Happiness Planner

I bought the Happiness Planner about 4 weeks ago, and I wish I had purchased it sooner. It helped by forcing me to write down all my thoughts, and then organize and analyze them. I quickly realized that I worry about people and situations that I have no control over, and that I am not proactive enough about my own happiness. I am generally a happy person, don’t get me wrong, but this journal helps me focus on what is really important and to not worry so much about what I cannot control.

I got the 52 weeks undated journal because I’ve bought dated planners before and forget to use it for several weeks or months, so this gives me the freedom to take a break for a while.

Although the Happiness Planner is the only planner I’ve used, it is my no means the best one that you can purchase. There are plenty of other options, so take the time to find the one that works best for you.
